Nashville FC Defeats Georgia Revolution 3-1 in Conyers, GA
Nashville FC spent Friday night in Conyers, GA to take on the Georgia Revolution for the first of two games in two days. Things got off to a slow start for Nashville as they spent a good portion of the first half in their zone, however there were not many chances for either side. The dead lock was broken in the 29th minute when Right Back Matt Reed found a loose ball in the back of the box and buried it in the back of the net, giving Nashville a 1-0 lead.
The match went to half at 1-0, and stayed that way until the 52nd minute, when Forward Alan O’Conner won a tackle and took a big shot to put Nashville FC up 2-0. The 2 goal lead was short lived however when in the 55th minute a revolution player won a cross and put the ball behind Goalie Stephen Lunney, to bring the deficit back to 1 goal. Things stayed that way until the 84th minute when Midfielder Ben Jones, who came on for the recently injured Elliot Goodwin, received a cross from the right and put it in with a slight touch to put it in for the winning goal, for a final score of 3-1.
It was a great win for the club, a win that assistant coach Kyle Roelke was excited about, “it was a great win for the club, we were much better in the second half, as we created a lot of good chances.”
With the win Nashville FC ends their three game road stretch with 7 points, putting them on top of the division.
